Foodie Finds

Besides my love for music, I love really good food. Along with the good food, I love what some people may think is weird food. So as I find the "good stuff" in Austin, I will share it with you.

Frank

Table at Frank

I got a chance to go to Frank last week. In what used to be the building that housed Starlite, is now a resturant that prides itself in its artisian sausages. The Daily Specials constantly change and they always come up with something fantastic. The night I was there I had a Lamb and Garlic hotdog topped with Brie. It was ridiculously good. If you go make sure to try the Triple Crown, bacon infused bourbon with ginger ale! Go eat some tasty dogs!

Torchy's Tacos

Green Chili Pork Taco

If you are a fan of the taco, I highly recommend you venture to Torchy's Tacos. With two locations on South Lamar, it's easy to find. It seems everyone has their favorite taco and then they order something else. My standard everytime is the Green Chili Pork Taco. Make sure to use the lime that is included to add that touch of acidity. Go find your favorite taco!

Tomo

While good sushi in Texas can be tough to find, sometimes you need to look in the not so obvious places. Tomo is an incredible sushi resturant in North Austin in a nondescript shopping center. They don't even have a website, but you can find them at 4101 W Parmer Lane. The owner and head sushi chef, Steve, came from Nobu in Las Vegas and has put together an incredible menu of tastes and textures. Go explore the menu!
