East Austin Studio Tour - 2009

The East Austin Studio Tour or E.A.S.T. is an open house of over 150 art and creative studios based in East Austin. The studios have graciously opened their doors and invited the public into this creative community. It started as a way to encourage dialogue between artists and has grown tremendously over the past 8 years. Run by artists, this year's tour went beyond the displays of creative work; there were seminars, presentations and lectures throughout the two-week open house. What first began as a weekend event was a nine day cultural showcase that had close to 15,000 attendees.

This site highlights four different artistic ventures that were part of the 2009 tour. Each creatively different and each a perfect example of what E.A.S.T. is all about.
